Itinerary

Day 1: Salalah – Rub Al Khali Desert Adventure

• Depart from your hotel in Salalah in the afternoon and travel through Thumrait, a historic Bedouin settlement, before crossing the vast Al Nejd desert toward the magnificent Rub Al Khali (Empty Quarter). Arrive at the golden dunes of Al Khadaf and enjoy an exciting dune bashing experience with expert desert drivers across the soft sands. Witness a magical sunset over the endless desert horizon before reaching the desert camp. Upon arrival, relax with traditional Arabic coffee, dates, and shisha, followed by a delicious Arabic-style dinner under the stars. Spend the night at the desert camp surrounded by the peaceful silence of the Empty Quarter.

Day 2: Ubar – Frankincense Wadi – Return to Salalah

• After breakfast at the camp, continue your journey to the legendary Lost City of Ubar (UNESCO World Heritage Site), famously known as the “Atlantis of the Sands,” where ancient ruins reveal the story of a lost civilization buried beneath the desert. Then proceed to Wadi Dawka – Frankincense Wadi (UNESCO site), home to the largest natural collection of frankincense trees, where you will learn about its historical and cultural importance. Finally, drive back to Salalah, arriving before noon with unforgettable memories of Oman’s desert, heritage, and natural wonders.
